Yu Televentures has started rolling out the new Cyanogen OS 12.1 update for its Yu Yureka and Yu Yureka Plus smartphones. CEO Rahul Sharma said in a blog post. “After three beta builds and final positive feedback from testers, we are officially releasing the 12.1 update for all the Yureka and Yureka Plus users. We understand it took longer than usual but we wanted to put up something concrete and ensure its worth your wait. Apologies for a longer wait time.”
He also listed out the top 5 features in the new update. It comes with build number YOG4PAS3JM and introduces a redesigned launcher for both devices. With the new Live Display, the smartphone is said to come with a smarter screen which is more responsive to environmental conditions. This offers better readability in sunlight and lesser screen light. The phone adjusts the light spectrum coming through the screen based on the time of day. In bright sunlight, the contrast and saturation is increased for readability, and at night the screen reduces the stimulating effect of blue light.
In addition, Calendar is now integrated with emails by letting users sync from multiple sources, including Gmail. Users can also schedule appointments right from an email. One will have to simply share their availability with one tap using the ‘send availability’ option.
The update also offers a redesigned launcher. The redesigned UI for the folders and app drawer is focused on one-handed-use. The new design also reduces visual clutter as well. Also, the Audio FX UI has been updated for consistency across all devices, along with performance and thermal control for the smartphones.
